"Curb Your Enthusiasm" is a very funny show from Larry David, the co-creator and executive producer of "Seinfeld", as well as the person behind the character George. In this case, Larry himself is the central character, with the two main supporting characters Jeff Garlin (as Jeff Greene, Larry's agent), and Cheryl Hines (as Cheryl David, Larry's wife). There are certainly similarities between "Seinfeld" and "Curb Your Enthusiasm". Jerry Seinfeld played himself in the first series, while Larry David plays himself in this series. Also, both shows tend to be about the minutia of life, and that is where they get their humor.

There are differences as well; "Seinfeld" was more of an ensemble show, while this show has a single character focus. "Seinfeld" was also a network program, while "Curb Your Enthusiasm" is from HBO, and so there are virtually no restrictions as there were with the prior series. "Seinfeld" was scripted, while in "Curb Your Enthusiasm" the dialogue is improvised.

There are only ten episodes in this season of "Curb Your Enthusiasm", and yet despite this several of the episodes seem to follow a formula. In this formula, Larry gets into an argument with a character early in the episode, only to have it come back and cause a problem for him later on. They are still very funny to watch, but it does take away a bit from the overall enjoyment. My favorite episodes from this season would be "The Bracelet", "Beloved Aunt", and "The Group".

How I Met Your Mother is a Friends-like comedy about five twenty some things (Lily, Marshall, Ted, Robin, and Barney) in New York. Lily, a kindergarten teacher, and Marshall, an aspiring attorney, have been together for the last nine years and in the first episode they become engaged. Ted, an architect and Marshall's roommate and best friend, has been looking at their perfect relationship for the last nine years and decides that it's time for him to find his own someone special. Barney, who wears suits just about everywhere, is Ted's other best friend and the most hilarious character on the show. And finally Robin, a tv news reporter, just joins the group when Ted decides that she might be the one.
The story is told from Ted's point of view and the show is basically a love story in reverse. In the year 2030, Ted is telling two teenagers the story of how he met their mother beginning with the escapades he and his friends had in the year 2005. The five of them hang out at MacLaren's (their Central Perk) and try to navigate planning a wedding, finding a soul mate, and having legendary moments on a day to day basis. Each episode brings us closer to finding out who the "mother" is, but it's left to the viewer to wonder if the woman in question is Ted's wife or if these are even his kids.

I was truly apprehensive about gossip girl; thinking it was a mindless teen show like the strings of teen shows the CW seemed to bring out lately. But I was very surprised. The season really became interesting, to me, once Chuck became a semi-leading character. Him and Blair really do make the show racy and interesting. They did a pretty good job for a season 1. Nate's character is a bit cardboard and I think the writers realized this early on and put him in the back-burner. Serena and Dan are a constant wave of emotions as are Lily/Rufus.
